Stan Fellows, accomplished illustrator and watercolor artist based in Longmont, Colorado, will teach watercolor journaling October 10-12, 2019 at the Ames Center in Burnsville. His playful approach and easy-to-remember tips and tools will help you paint in a more relaxed way. “Isn’t it appealing to know that you can paint for ten minutes and complete something? And guess what? It doesn’t feel like work—it feels fun,” he says. The structure is relaxed: Stan does a ten-minute demo; then participants try it. Demos gradually extend as does time for participants to explore. Stan circulates to give individual feedback and help. With this non-traditional format and laid-back teaching style, new participants relax and enjoy watercolor, experienced painters refresh their approach. Register today. A native Minnesotan, Stan began his 35-year creative practice in Minneapolis teaching watercolor painting and illustration for the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In the past decade, his commercial illustrations have increasingly been executed in the carefree style of his personal journals. He has created lessons to teach this unique approach in workshops as he transitions into a new stage of his career.
