For the love of Big Blooms - January Demo

Please join us as we meet together as Sonja Hutchinson shares her gifts and talents with us!

Sonja has a fun-loving approach to watercolor and will show it to you during her demo in January. She will include feature tips on how to approach those big blooms you might dream of painting. For her, watercolor is where spontaneity and intention collide. Sonja’s interest in watercolor was ignited through an invitation to paint at the Linden Hills Community Center in Minneapolis over 20 years ago.  She served as President of the Minneapolis Watercolor Society from 2016 – 2018 and served on the Board of Directors for 13 years from 2008 to 2021. Her watercolors have earned numerous awards in local and national juried exhibitions and she has earned Signature Membership in the Minnesota and Red River Watercolor Societies.

She teaches classes and workshops at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, the U of M Landscape Arboretum and Hopkins Center for the Arts.

Her recent “Human Spirit” works express moments of kindness, joy, personal growth, and empowerment. They are unbound by a single person, gender, or race. They reinforce connections we share and depend upon for our own well-being. You can find Sonja’s work in Studio 321 of the Northrup King Building in Northeast Minneapolis or online at nemaa.org/artists/Sonja-hutchinson/
