|Being a Board member is fun and
rewarding. Be a part of the team that shapes the direction of the
Society and provides the great events and meetings that are
offered throughout the year. Board meetings usually take place
before our regular monthly meetings. It is a very welcoming and
supportive group. This position plans the monthly MNWS
meetings, and includes coordinating with Christ Presbyterian
Church, scheduling informational programming and artists
demonstrations, and setting up the projector for demos--with help
from other Board members. For more info, contact Wendy Westlake at

The first half of the meeting will be Wendy Westlake showing you how you can use computer software like PhotoShop Elements to aid you in your artwork, and Deb Magelssen will talk about taking good reference photos, and a little bit about marketing.
The second part of the meeting will be a general Art Swap. This is a chance to clean out your studios or to pick up some new supplies. Artists should bring in their unwanted materials; paint, paper, brushes, books, dvd's etc. The items should be in good condition and should be priced (unless they are give-aways). Members may purchase or swap with other members.

We have been looking at better ways to share info and help Society members to connect with each other, so we have launched a number of social networking channels. Participation is voluntary, of course, but we think you might enjoy taking part. We'll be talking more about this as time goes on, so you'll get an opportunity to ask questions, and get help if necessary. Here are the channels that are currently in place:
