|Our events are always fun,
well-attended and educational, and we try to take photos to record
them for posterity. We now have over 1000 pictures for you to look
at on our flickr photo account (organized by event). Take a peek. Most events are free
advertising now available on the MNWS site. This will be paid
advertising, open to art related businesses and individual
artists. What we are offering is a 250x100 pixel ad on the
Happenings page (see placeholder ads on that page).
Advertisers can produce their own ads (subject to approval), and
the cost will be $10 a month (to be paid in 6 month blocks). If
you have any questions, please contact us at
Head into summer with new painting ideas and old friends. This year, MNWS Members’ Day will be held at Highland Lake Park Preserve Visitor Center, 10145 Bush Lake Road in Bloomington, 9AM – 3PM. We’ll start the day with two demos in the Lakeview Room.
Carol Wingard will demonstrate batik painting with watercolor, and Georgia Kandiko will create an atmospheric European cityscape using wash techniques. After a catered box lunch, we’ll move outside for a plein air demo by Pat Undis, a rising star in the world of outdoor painting in Minnesota. Pat’s demo will be followed by painting time on the grounds and an informal critique for those who wish to stay.
The registration form for Members’ Day is in the latest issue of Brushstrokes and also can be found at this link. The registration deadline is June 19, and the maximum number of participants is 60. Please consider volunteering to help make Members’ Day a success. Volunteer opportunities are listed at the bottom of the registration form.

We have been looking at better ways to share info and help Society members to connect with each other, so we have launched a number of social networking channels. Participation is voluntary, of course, but we think you might enjoy taking part. We'll be talking more about this as time goes on, so you'll get an opportunity to ask questions, and get help if necessary. Here are the channels that are currently in place:
